Bulgarian Folklore is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. It is the only Bulgarian academic periodical dedicated to folklore studies and popularising folkloristic research. The journal was founded in 1975 as an edition of the Institute of Folklore at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1973–2010).

Since 1995 Bulgarian Folklore has been published with the subtitle Journal of Folkloristics, Ethnology and Anthropology which reflects the real processes of broadening the research fields and approaches in Bulgarian folkloristics.

Since 2019 the subtitle was changed to Journal of Folkloristics, Ethnology, Anthropology and Arts.

Bulgarian Folklore is abstracted in EBSCO Discovery.

Bulgarian Folklore is indexed in ERIH PLUS and Anthropological Index Online (AIO).

Bulgarian Folklore is registered in the National Reference List of contemporary Bulgarian scientific publications with scientific review, No.614.
